Alliance Trust UK Equity Income Fund
Alliance Trust UK Equity Income Fund is co-managed by Neil Tong and Kenneth Warnock. It aims to produce long
term growth in both income and capital from a portfolio primarily of listed UK companies with the balance invested
in other eligible quoted equity investments or corporate and sovereign debt. The Fund's benchmark is the FTSE
All-Share Index (Total Return).
Neil and Kenneth take a broad, balanced approach that gives the portfolio the opportunity to perform well through the economic cycle.
In certain market conditions, the portfolio might display a slight bias towards growth or value investing; however, this is
likely to be the result of stock selection rather than the result of any overt change in strategy.
Both Neil and Kenneth look for well run companies with strong balance sheets, superior pricing power and credible management teams.
Whilst stock selection is an important driver of the portfolio's structure, the managers take a balanced view on asset allocation, and
the portfolio's shape is influenced by broader economic trends. Neil and Kenneth remain index-aware, but the structure of the portfolio
is not dictated by the benchmark index.

 Neil Tong is a highly skilled fund manager with 22 years' investment experience, 12 of which have been gained with Alliance Trust. These many years of knowledge and understanding are directly brought to bear in the Alliance Trust UK Equity Income Fund.
Neil was Head of Overseas Equities and Head of Fixed Interest at General Accident and he has also worked for the National Mutual Life Association of Australasia. |
 Kenneth joined Alliance Trust in October 2007, initially as an analyst on the Trust's Mid Cap Equity portfolio.
Kenneth started his career in 1994 at Johnson Fry, where he managed UK and Global Equity Funds, before joining Jupiter Asset Management in 2000 to manage retail and institutional portfolios investing in UK equities.
Prior to joining Alliance Trust, Kenneth was an Investment Manager at Premier Asset Management.
Kenneth has a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics for Business Analysis from Glasgow Caledonian University. |
