Alliance Trust European Equity Fund
The Alliance Trust European Equity Fund is managed by Fiona MacRae, Head of European Equities. It aims to produce long-term total return from investment in a portfolio of companies in any economic sector in Europe, excluding the United Kingdom. The Fund's benchmark is the FTSE All World Developed Europe ex-UK Index (Total Return).
The Fund is managed with a long term investment horizon. A high conviction stock-picking approach is key to the Fund's long term returns. While Fiona primarily follows a bottom-up investment process, there are times when themes and top-down issues are important and the portfolio will reflect these.
Fiona adopts a pragmatic approach and takes a balanced approach across economic and market cycles. She is supported by three dedicated European analysts and encourages a creative but disciplined approach to investing among the team.

 Fiona MacRae joined Alliance Trust in 2008, bringing to the company a rare wealth of experience of European markets and companies. Fiona has over 22 years' experience of investing in European companies. She was a member of the highly successful European team at Scottish Widows through the 1990s and joined Alliance Trust from Kempen Capital Management.
