Alliance Trust North American Equity Fund

Alliance Trust North American Equity Fund is managed by Matthew Strachan, Head of North American Equities. The Fund aims to produce long term total return from investment in a portfolio of companies in any economic sector in the United States and Canada. Holdings will be listed on a regulated stock exchange or market in either the United States or Canada. The Fund's benchmark is the FTSE North America All Cap Index (Total Return).

Stock selection is the primary driver behind the fund's returns, particularly over the longer term; the team selects stocks within a top-down framework, and in-depth macroeconomic analysis helps the team to develop their views on the underlying sectors within the North American investment universe. The team aim to invest in cash generative businesses that have pricing power, solid management teams and growing dividends.

Matthew's investment style allows his team to pursue the most attractive individual stock opportunities without being restricted by any formal growth or value style bias. This provides the portfolio with the potential to perform well in most market environments.
