Senior Operations Administrator
I joined Alliance Trust Savings in 1996 as a Customer Service Administrator. During my first year I gained three Securities Institute qualifications. I moved to the Operations Department in my second year as an administrator, and then was promoted to supervisor.
Following my return from maternity leave I took advantage of the company’s Flexible Working policy and now work on a part time basis as a Senior administrator 3 days per week within the Transfers-In team. We deal with cash allocation, management of transferring in funds from other managers and dividend allocation to name just a few of the many responsibilities the team has.
The nature of the work across the Operations Department allows for staff to work as individuals but also promotes the importance of good communication, encouraging working together as a team.
I have recently completed the Company’s internal Generic and Product modules, a new training programme introduced in 2007 which has been a great exercise in keeping abreast with the industry in general and more specifically the products ATS offers. The Operations Department is certainly, not ‘all work and no play’. The team regularly arranges well attended social events which are always great fun.
