Management Trainee Year 1

I recently joined the Management Training Programme in September 2010 after graduating with 1st class honours in BA Accountancy and Finance from Dundee University and subsequently completing an MSc in International Financial Analysis at Newcastle University.

My university studies gave me a thorough grounding in finance and investment and my decision to pursue a career in the industry was cemented after completing an internship in investment management in summer 2009.

I was attracted to the Management Training Programme for a number of reasons. First, the programme is rotational in nature and is structured in a way that gives trainees experience in key areas such as savings, asset management and investment. Second, the company places an emphasis on professional development and encourages trainees to complete industry examinations and training in specialist areas. Third the company offers a very friendly and supportive environment with trainees working alongside senior management and, thereby having the opportunity to learn from experienced professionals. Finally, the company is well-established and globally renowned and is consistently recognised by the investment community in terms of its performance and provision of investment vehicles.
