Alliance Trust North American Fund awarded 'A' ratingThe Alliance Trust North American Equity Fund, lead managed by Matt Strachan, has been awarded an 'A' rating by Old Broad Street Research (OBSR). The North American fund was launched by Alliance Trust Asset Management in February. One of the UK’s leading ratings agencies, OBSR provides forward-looking investment and product research services to advisers, life companies and fund management groups.
The rating is the highest possible for a new fund. Ed Troughton, Managing Director, Distribution at Alliance Trust Asset Management, said, "This is a significant milestone for us in the development of our asset management business and one that recognises the value of Matt Strachan’s uncomplicated and durable style of fund management."
In its announcement about the North American Equity fund, OBSR said, "The manager seeks out high quality businesses and looks to add value by maintaining a focus on the team’s two to three year outlook, which they believe is in contrast to the shorter-term focus of many market participants. Furthermore, he is cognisant of current and prospective dividend yields. Mr. Strachan is an experienced equity manager and this fund offers a thoughtfully constructed and pragmatically managed vehicle for investing in North American markets."
