ALLIANCE TRUST SAVINGS EXPANDS ITS BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT TEAM

Financial services provider Alliance Trust Savings is strengthening its business development team with the promotion of several experienced managers and the appointment of a new Scottish business development manager to liaise with advisers in Scotland.

The company announced Alison Mollard has been promoted to Business Development Team Leader, Key Accounts. She will be responsible for implementing a key national accounts strategy as well as coordinating with each regional business development manager to increase the levels of sales and adviser service. Alison joined Alliance Trust when the company took over specialist SIPP provider, Wolanski and Co. Trustees Limited, where she worked from 2000 and was the company’s leading SIPP salesperson.

Alliance Trust Savings has also appointed Ian Linden to be its new Business Development Manager for Scotland. Ian will have specific responsibility for generating business and liaising with Scottish-based advisers. Ian joins Alliance Trust in June from Fitzallan Limited and has strong knowledge and understanding of advisers’ needs.

The team has also been boosted by the promotion of Nicola Fotheringham to Senior Account Manager. Nicola already worked within the team as an account manager specialising in SIPP business. Sam Charman, who was working as a manager of Alliance Trust’s telephone instructions team, has joined the business development team as an Account Manager.

Kelly O’Donnell, Managing Director, Distribution, said, “We’re delighted that Alison has been promoted to this key role within our expanding team since she has strong experience in specialist pensions as well as great understanding of what advisers require in order to do business well.  These appointments show we are strengthening our adviser team, building on our recognised expertise in the SIPP market to offer the adviser market a growing range of products and services. We have been able to attract professionals with a high calibre of expertise and experience interested in working in our business development team, and we expect to expand this further over the year. By appointing managers who will focus on specific regions, starting with Ian in Scotland, we will also be able to offer our services in areas that we have not been able to focus on in such a sustained manner before.”
